About Kōzo
Kōzo is the Japanese word for mulberry bark. Mulberry fibres are long used for artisan paper and cloth making in Japan. It is bound together to be a high-quality, tear-resistant paper also known as Washi.
Kōzo Design makes bags and accessories using a unique material that is made from cellulose all-natural plant fibres that are FSC approved. All dyes used are natural and non-toxic to the environment. The material is strong, highly tear and water-resistant, making it extremely durable.

About The Maker
My name is Jessica and I had an idea!
My goal was to make a modern fashion brand that is both sustainable and stylish. To create products that looked great and supported both the needs of busy lifestyles and the environment.
I use cellulose fibre material derived from mulberry trees, which are strong and durable. It’s unique because it can be washed, reshaped, reused, dyed, and stitched.
I wanted to create a brand that represents my values – cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. All components of my bags are either biodegradable or recyclable.
I hand make and design every product myself, here in the UK.
